Abstract: This article aims to rethink the current Hispanic cinema, analysing the limitations that entails the notion of ’national cinema’ and observing the rise of a glocal cinematographic movement in the Spanish-Latin American area.

According to the principles of Andrew Higson, Rick Altman and Néstor García Canclini, the concept of glocalization within the framework of Hispanic films takes on special relevance.
